Just had to call in and say, you and Brenda are my two top podcasts. You say your podcast is about a man with yarn issues, and you are seeking Boston male knitters. Two problems I live in New Zealand, and I’m a girl, so I thought I would promise to get in touch with my masculine side, maybe scratch inappropriately or something when I play your casts. Not sure what to do about the Boston thing - maybe I can find a poster to look at or someting?

Hey Guido - here are a few ideas for your knitting tools. Check out canvas tool bags at hardware stores - lots of pockets for tools, yarn and wide enough for even long needles. A smaller case might be found in an art supply store - check out tools for draftsmen. Also see the review of fly-fishing cases at Knitter’s Review.
Keep your chin up - don’t feel that you need to apologize so much! We want to hear your opinions and ideas, not how other people disagree with you!

I hope the race went well. Apparently, I just missed you at Minds Eye Yarns. I am in Boston for a conference. I listen to your Podcast and heard you mention Minds Eye Yarns. So, I decided to check it out while I’m here. Lucy (I hope I have her name right) was so kind and helpful. I just think it’s so cool to put faces with the people I read about in the knitting blogs. Thanks for the information and I hope your week gets better.

The show was great again. I appreciate you sharing your stories with us. I really liked hearing about your friend’s daughter. Again, don’t sweat the negative comments.
One day I hope to get my own daughter (3yo) obsessed with knitting. She already loves watching her papa (me) knit, and she already is trying to “knit” with yarn. We’ve given her her own yarn to do this with, as I would not want her messing with the good stuff. Her “knitting” involves taking a ball of yarn and stringing it around (and around and around) our stairway railing, or her easel, or her chairs, or the dining room table, or sometimes all of the above. My wife and I try to untangle things and re-ball the yarn, preparing her for her next “knitting” session.

Excellent piece on the Aplacas! It’s something I’m concerned about, too. It seems in so many areas of my work I can’t always take the environmentally responsible route, but I try to whenever possible in the rest of my life. Thanks for the information!
P.S. I’m thinking I can come up with a cartoon of you and the cops and the yarn… the picture is so vivid in my head. I work slowly sometimes- be patient!

Your podcast has now beaten out Cast On to become my favourite knitting podcast.
BTW, I’m rather stunned that people actually felt the need to write in to complain about your request for donations. I don’t think that you need to apologise. I really don’t think that it’s possible to never offend anyone and a podcast would be really boring if it tried to be completely benign. Also, keep in mind that some people are incedibly sensitive — the people who complained about Franklin’s Knitting Olympics medal come to mind. After all, this is your blog and your podcast and we are your guests. No one is forced to read or listen.
Of course, I don’t mean to offend anyone with my above comments. :o)

I’m sorry to hear about your bad week. I feel your pain–sometimes it just seems like karma is out to get us.
I don’t know if this site will help any of your kniting bag woes, but I thought I would suggest it. It’s Duluth Trading (no affiliation) at http://www.duluthtrading.com/home/home.aspx. They have a toolbag called a GateMouth bag, and while it’s meant for tools, and therefore manly, it would make a great knitting bag. My husband has a couple, and I can’t get them away from him or I would use them happily. They don’t seem to have as many different styles of them as they used to, but they have some other bags that look great, too. They also used to cary roll up wrench organizers that would work for needles.
Hey, as another thought, the women in my local shop started carrying fishing tackle boxes for their knitting tools, and they’re great, too. Didn’t you say that you like to fish? This could give you an excuse to shop for fishing gear AND knitting at the same time.
