Other than that, I’d be thrilled with gift certificates to local yarn shops so that I can pick out yarn in the right amounts as I need it. Skeins of luxury yarns are always awesome and much appreciated but it is a little daunting when you have tons of single skeins of great yarns and then you can’t figure out what to do with them.

Another thing I just thought of but would be great would be those foam toy blocks (the ones that fit together like puzzle pieces) because I could use those to block on.

I’ve never seen Rosewood Colonial needles but after reading the other comments, I want to check those out too. I do like alumninum needles better than the bamboo ones that I have but the ones I have are all either Clover or Lotus. I do want to try some of the harder wood needles.

Someday I want a spinning wheel. I try to convince my girlfriend that a spinning wheel isn’t really going to cost more than the jewelry she buys me as gifts but she isn’t buying it. She thinks jewelry is easy and that a wheel would encourage more yarn which is the opposite of what she wants in our apartment.

One of my customers, (I watch houses and feed cats, etc.) left for vacation last year to go to Utah. Her family skis and she knits. She called me from the airport, she had just gotten off of the plane and was freaking out. She got herself settled on the plane, made sure she could bring circular needles on board, and took out her yarn to begin a knitted jacket. But she left her pattern on the kitchen table at home! Could I drive over to her house and then scan the pattern and email it ASAP? I understood. She was in Utah on a Sunday with 20 skeins of yarn and no pattern…Our own version of up the creek…!

Anyway, I continue to love your shows. As for the holidays (we celebrate them both as well!) I think I want Linda’s book! It’s hard for anyone else to buy me knitterly things, I tend to treat myself to the things I love. Of course my husband could go into a shop a buy me a skein of yarn, but he would have no idea of what I would like. And like Kathy said, Time. Time and creativity in the coming year.

That’s what I want. And…maybe needles… that’s it and that’s the only thing I need, is this. I don’t need this or this. Just this yarn. And this roving, the needles and the yarn and the roving and that’s all I need. And this remote control. (Eh, that’s kinda from a movie, just trying to make a joke!)

I also heart the colonials… perhaps I will have to get my hands on some of them as well… don’t they make ebonys as well??

As for the scarf, it’s in Noro Korian(from WEBS closeout), so it’s more practice than getting started on the project.

To anyone who is homesick for Boston, I am always happy to yarn crawl with you when you are in town… or at least try and take you to Boston with the show.

Knitting gifts I want - I want a box, under my tree that has inside of it “TIME TO KNIT” The store, the kids, life, etc. … there isn’t enough time for me. Besides that, Colonial Circs - they are pricey, but I am in love. I just finished the neverending shawl project and the Colonial Circs I was using kept me motivated and moving. I like Addi’s but they sometimes intimidate me.. . . .. I love our bamboos, but, the Colonial Rosewoods are true love for me. . . .

Hope the “practice” scarf knits up well -are you using the same yarn or just practicing the pattern?
