weirdness
So if I was tagged and now have to list six weird things about me. Problem is… I’m not that weird. Beyond the knitting thing, which you don’t think is weird, I am not really that weird.
This is not to say that I am not a freak and that I don’t like to get my freak on, but it’s silly fun freak… which isn’t that weird. So here is my list as far as I can think of my weirdness…
1. I am a geographer - really, how many of you know a geographer
2. I have family in Chile - really, how many of you know a Chilean
3. I’ve eaten Llama and like it - This is one of those Chilean things
4. I use a shoe horn - I use a show horn for everything, sneakers, slip ons, soup
5. I like cheese dogs - You know, like the oscar-myar hot dogs with cheese in it, now I have really turned you off…
6. I really like children’s books, for me - They make me happy
so thats the weirdness…
I have started a cafe press store to start to do a little fund raising for the show. Next year I would like to travel across New England and re-make the site design and all these things add up, so I thought I would try my hand and making silly t-shirts. Please let me know what you think.

You’re not so weird. If you like children’s books, you must read Gregor the Overlander. It’s a series. My third graders love it. So, do I!

OK! 5 and 6 are NOT weird! Cheese belongs on hotdogs. Ask anyone from Wisconsin! And as a retired kindergarten teacher, there is nothing healthier for the soul than a good, and I repeat and emphasize the word good, children’s book. I really miss reading to children everyday. At our church’s Christmas dinner I was privileged to read a children’s story aloud. I felt so at home with it and very happy to be back in the ol’ rockin’ chair of kiddie lit!

Sorry - not so weird. Well, the llama might be a bit much, but then again, my mother is from Newfoundland and one of my all time favorite foods in the world is a native dish called Fish & Bruise (now the “bruise” may be mispelled, but you get the idea). It’s salt cod, soaked in water over night combined with “hard bread” - think stale dinner rolls - that have also been soaked to soften. Cook together and add lots of butter and oh my goodness - it is yummy!!!!
Next time you visit, you’ll have to spend time with our youngest son who is 5 and also a “geographer” or at least one in training. Literally, he knows more geography than the average adult, rides in the car with our navigation system on and the Western Mass Road Atlas on his lap. Favorite website, google maps.

I also love children’s books, probably b/c that is my “other life” as a children’s librarian asst.

Well, I’m not a “practicing” geographer, but I got both my BA and MA in urban geography! I don’t find your first item wierd at all. Geographers rock!

I’m a Geographer too! There are more of us than you know. But I’m really excited about another knitting Geographer!
As far as being weird, weird is as weird does. We are all weird and normal at the same time.

Go Geography Go! I think the only thing weird about your list is that you think these things could be classified as weird.

I’m slow to respond because neither of my aggregators picked you up for a while.
Define children’s books? My wife is a voracious reader of YA (young adult) titles and being a librarian with 2 children we are always reading. I will even be at ALA next week and have an opportunity to see many of the new childrens and YA books that are coming out I am very excited.

Children’s books rock! I just got a bunch of English-language children’s books, that I am familiar with and love, translated into French, since I’m hoping to major in French. It was one of my favorite Christmas presents, especially since I couldn’t think of anything yarn-oriented I wanted right then.

You are just too funny! I did not know people ate llamas. But of course we eat all kinds of different stuff weirdnered than that!
