I don't know if you look back at these comments, but this was a great show. I just looked at the pictures of Yarns in the Farms and I could tell from your interview that their shop would be full of wild and wooly creations. What an inspiration! Thanks for your interesting interviews.

Hi! I saw your pic on the Yrn Harlot's blog and I was wondering, do you have any pictures of the Chuppa? It took me a minute to realize what the heck she was talking about because I've never seen the word in print (i'm not Jewish, but i have a ton of friends who are) and once i figured it out, i was sad that she missed getting a pic of it. so anyway, if you have a pic, i'd love to see it. Thanks!

I've been soooo sick but you make me laugh! Susan was wonderful and I'm in the mood for some baby knittin' now. (Not knitting babies, heh heh.) Catch up with you this week!

I went to Google Maps and found our LYS, Little Red Hen Yarns in Yakima, Washington. I moved the map marker and left a review. Thanks for sharing how to do that on your show, and for your enthusiastic support of LYS in general. The Hen is on the map!

What a fun episode! It sounds like Tink and Wink are joys to be around, overflowing with energy and enthusiasm. You all sounded like you were having a great time. I doubt I'll get to visit their shop, as my Florida lifestyle (such as it is) doesn't include yarn shopping in PA, so thanks for giving me a glimpse into YitF.

Yeahh.... a comment. I have been so looking forward to a comment.

I haven't been playing as much punk or punk like music in a while and I really miss it. Ok, I really miss Ska music more than punk, but this will do. I think the music helps me not loose touch with the college kid in me... who knows...

Hi Guido, Love your podcast! I mentioned I live in Wisconsin but am moving this summer and your podcast has been tremendously helpful in my attitude about moving to another place. Boston sounds quite yarny indeed, which makes me excited to move.

Anyway, I just added a review for my favorite LYS here in the Madison, WI area: The Sow's Ear in Verona, WI. It's a coffee & yarn shop and I will miss it dreadfully when we move.

Thanks!

Hey Guido,
Hope you have fun on your knitting retreat. Geral Bailiy Homestead Farm has lots of fiber and I think you spin, right? I used to have a catalog, but I have no idea where it is. I've never been to their store, but I've bought things from them before.

Guido,

I just started knitting socks and i think i have a VERY easy way for you to prevent the "ladders" that you mentioned before. Every couple of rows change the location of the 'breaks' between the DPNs. This will scatter the "ladder" stitches around in such a way that they are never noticed. I didn't have ladders, per se, but I found that if I knit a whole sock with the break between the DPNs at the same place all the way up the sock it resulted in a loose stitch that looked sort of like a permanent fold.

In other words, I had 14 stitches on four DPNs (56 sts total) and every three rows or so I knit about 4 stitches directy from one of the active DPNs onto the next one (as opposed to using the 5th free needle) all the way around. And then changed back to using the 5th needle. This was super easy and IT WORKS!

Anyway, I've gotten many enjoyable hours of knitting companionship through your podcast and I just wanted to share this tip back with you since you seemed so annoyed with your sock ladders.

Thanks!

Hi Guido,
I've just finished listening to all of your episodes through the two-year anniversary and wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your show. I've loved hearing the show develop from it's early stages to the new "live podcasting." I wanted to wish you a very happy, if somewhat belated, pod-o-versary! My favorite part of the show are the interviews with the local yarn store owners. I love hearing what motivates them and how each of them has a different vision for their store. Thanks for all the hard work!

Love your Podcast. I just started listening. Saw you on Ravelry. I'm hoping to get Franklin to the Boston area also. His book comes out in October '08, BTW.

Have you interviewed Victoria at Seed Stitch Fine Yarn in Salem yet? It's a great stylish yarn store. Only 18 months old. I love it there! Her son knits and works there also. Nice people! I might be partial because I'll be teaching crocheting there part time. (I also knit) But check out the great upcoming events: http://www.seedstitchfineyarn.com/t-events.aspx
You & your wife might want to come up and visit Salem some time ... stop by the Seed Stitch!

There's home, there's work, and then there's YITF! I t is so fun, always something new to see, inspiring me to knit knit and knit some more! It's all there, everything I need especially the suggestions and genuine support (not to mention wacky wisdom and hilarity) from Wink and Tink. Each season brings new and fun yarns and designs -- you know, that feeling when the yarn just calls OUT to you to be held, to be chosen to take home... yes, nothing quite like it, when you swoon over a color blend, a texture, a certain feeling evoked, the creation takes shape... and all the fabulous knitters who cluster there at the shop, showing their pet projects, their creativity rubs off and flows in so many directions. And I can't miss Wednesday's Knit Night!

Hi Guido,
I'm a little late to the party but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your podcast. All your interviews are terrific. You know when to talk and more importantly, when to listen. Like many of your listeners, I was especially touched by your episodes featuring Allison and Circles.
And keep the jingle!! I sing along every episode. It never fails to make me laugh when I think of you and your brother recording it.
Happy Pod-o-versary!!

I was waiting for you to post about this, there is NO WAY I am missing this year. (That damn Pride Parade and it's distracting colors got me last year). I love the idea of a Learn To Knit table! And the yarn crawl!! It's the day before my birthday, so I have every excuse in the world to buy yarn for no valid reason whatsoever.

I love your podcast and I really enjoyed your interview with Jackie. She and I think somewhat alike.

I had some thoughts about why some people are so anti-knitting.

1. Some folks feel threatened if they're not the center of attention. I have one aquaintance who always gives me a hard time about knitting at his house because he thinks I'm not paying enough attention to him. He just doesn't understand that it is what makes me comfortable wherever I am and I can carry on an intense discussion with out dropping out of the convo or dropping a stitch. I don't give him a hard time for having a beer in his hand all the time now, do I?

2. Some folks don't like the noise that needles make, clicking together, in meetings, movies, etc.

3. Deep down inside the writer is jealous that knitters have this pleasant, relaxing hobby and can make such cool stuff in their spare time but he can't. He tried to learn how to knit several years or several decades ago and just couldn't get the hang of it. Or maybe he's just afraid to try.

Pick your favorite, but I but it's #3

I have 2 favorites - Dyeing on the Farm and The Circle.

I have listened to each of them more than once! Great interviewing work!

Happy Pod-o-versary! It has been 2 extremely enjoyable years. I like your style, your music, and your guests.

My vote would be to keep the opening jingle - my kids crack up at me singing it! It is just a classic!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary, Guido! I always enjoy your podcast & hearing about what is on your needles. I find inspiration & encouragement in such knitting tales. My favorite part of your show is the opening song (I often sing along) & my favorite episode was the one where you talked to the Yarn Harlot. Best wishes for many more podcasts!

Hi Guido,
I'm finally caught up! In the past month (or two?) I've been listening to all your podcasts. Whenever you had a contest, I'd be thinking "Dang it!" But now, I can enter!
My favorite, hands down, was the interviews with Allison. That was great.

Hi Guido,
My favorite part of the shows are the interviews and the way you interact with your interviewee. You always manage to ask the questions I want to hear. I really loved The Circle episodes and would love a follow-up!

Thanks for your hard work, I appreciate the company on my daily commutes.

Congrats on two years and I'm looking forward to two more . . . . and then two more . . . .and then, well, you know.

Happy anniversary!
I enjoyed listening to your Podcast today while sitting in interminable traffic!

My favorite things on your Podcasts were your discussion of your chuppah, and the interview you did a couple of weeks ago with the Yarn Shop owner (older woman)--that was fantastic.

My favorite part of the show, as always, was the guest interview. Sarah was awesome. I like that you give so many people space to talk about their adventures in fiber.

Also the intro song always sticks in my brain for the rest of the day. That's not a bad thing necessarily.

My favorite "tip" today was Sarah's 'cure' for knitting too tight. Haven't actually tried that... but it's a thought :)

Sock knitting since Jan 2006.
Still a "death grip" needle holder, though!

Hey, I just discovered your podcast (I'm a little slow on the uptake!). But hey I wanted to let you know what I use to organize my needles and tools. A fishing bait binder bag! I ordered on from the Bass Pro store and it works great. It has a bunch of ziplock bags inside that are held with a three-ring binder system. It holds a ton of needles. I keep my double points on one side of it and my circular needles on the other side. Check it out. Oh, here's a link... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37109?cmCat=CROSSSELL&cmid=PP_P1_1

Great Podcast. I've downloaded so many now I may never catch up!

Some of the Hopi weavers would beg to differ with this comment, eh :).

Also, knitting was practiced by men far and wide in Scotland and many northern countries where knitting was essential for clothing.

Loved the idea of this podcast, but while I could hear you, the sound level for the shop owner (who was terrific) was so low that I missed about 1/4 of what she said, and was constantly changingi the volume level to catch what I did.

Hi, Guido, I have been catching up on about two months worth of podcasts, so I feel as if I have some insight into what I like in a podcast. You were mentioning that you wonder how you stack up against the other 'casters.

Yours is one of my favorite podcasts. From the first episode I listened to, I've enjoyed the interviews. You choose interesting people, and you ask them good questions. I thought Jackie from Wild and Woolly was very interesting. The Harlot's Represent event was fun to hear first hand. But I also liked it when you went to Bazaar Bizarre and just interviewed random vendors.

I like the fact that you have developed a certain personality for your show and you stick with it. You share enough about your personal life that we know who you are, but not so much that we feel uncomfortable. We know that you're not going to shout or swear or do anything else shocking, so we can put your 'cast on in the kitchen without having to worry about who else is listening.

I don't care one way or another if there is music in a podcast. If I don't like it or it is too loud I skip it on the various podcasts.

I think on the whole, if you are interested in something, your listeners will be interested in it. I would say, do what you do. It's good.

Hey, I haven't actually listened to this episode yet - I've just found your podcast and so I'm playing catch up!! (up to episode 7 so far - long way to go!!)

Just want to say that I really enjoy listening what you get up too and I hope the music doesn't stop as you've played some wicked tracks so far!!

It's really nice have a different perspective on knitting - I now really want to plan a trip from Oxford, England to Boston to visit your amazing sounding yarn stores!!

So, I've got special art yarn, and sets of vintage glass stitch markers, and knitting needles made out of bicycle spokes. How do ya like them apples?

Hey Guido,

What a great idea for a live show! I hope it was fun for you! I think that column writer is bitter about knitters (along with the rest of the world) probably because he was shunned from groups as a kid, and now carries that grudge in adulthood to all groups.

Looking forward to this upcoming b-day show!

Hi, Guido!

I loved the latest episode. Long-time yarn shop owners are the best. They have so much history and insight to share, and generally have a great sense of humor. I'd love to hear more chats just like this.
