So I was doing some research for this weeks show this morning and I googled knitting and I found this:
Someone did a review of my show yesterday who isn’t a knitter. Check out the review at Bostonist.com
Ok… so my sound does suck a bit… But I am working on it every week. What do you guys think. What could I do to improve my show? I can take it. (but be gentle)
I wish I knew how to fix iTunes issues, but that is something I have no control over, but if you tell me your problem I can try and figure out what is going wrong…
EPISODE 10 – WREN ROSS DOWNLOAD
Terry Gross, eat your heart out. This, the tenth episode… so exciting… is the interview show. I highlight one of Boston’s most creative and active knitters. Wren Ross is a delight to speak to who is constantly growing and changing, much like her knitting.
FYI – this episode was pre-recorded so I catch up with my regular weekly news/feedback next week. Also… I think ten episodes drop’s my chance of podfading by some huge percentage, so I guess you will have to expect at least another ten episodes from me… :)
I just found a comment that was hidden alerting me to a knitting party… How bad ass is that?
Anyhow, Massive Blonde says:
This week at Minds Eye Yarns during BIG SALE WEEK, I was told, the Monday knitting group at Somerville Library is having a party. I’ve never been over to meet those folks but plan to crash the bash with a stash of home made cookies.
Come crash with me. I’ll be the one with massive blond curly hair, handing you a cookie.
West Branch/Somerville Public Library Knitting Group 40 College Ave., Davis Square, Somerville. 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Sadly Susan, I will not be able to attend the party if it is next week, I have some guy knitting thigs to do. That’s right Monday June 5th is another installment of the Knitting Gentleman of Boston (KGB) and for those who would like to attend we will be at the Dado on Church St. in harvard Square from 7pm – 9pm. Please try and use alternative transportation, street parking is hard to find and lot parking is extremely costly.
Also I am going to be running a little WWKIPDAY event at the AubaunPain on Mass Ave in Harvard square on June 10th, from 11 until the knitters go home. FYI – this is also pride parade week and it should be a good day for some people watching as well as knitting.
D and her family have had a new arrival. Seeing as she is part of my immidiate knitting family I wanted to share the joyful news… Hoora…
Now I have to figure out what to make LL. Oh good, baby knitting.
ooohhh… I should so make baby suprise with Noro…
I wonder when knitters kids are introduced to the world if the knitters friends work together to make sure that they don’t make too many of the same thing. Oh well… this kid is going to have more sweaters and hats then she is going to be able to handle.
Got a new mic for podcasting on location. Have a listen. The message and story is short, but the guilt will last forever..:)
I am sorry to my long lost cousin and her new boy. They didn’t deserve what I did. I am also sorry to my pumkin. She has too put up with me and my impulsive nature.
Don’t hate me because I
drink eat and dial, thai food has strange powers over me.
I spent the last four days on a community built playground putting in handrails and building mazes. I was a site captain. I ran crews from 7:00am to 9:00pm for three days and was then talked into doing one more shift Sunday morning. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
This site is designed by Leather and Assoc and built by the good people of Stamford, CT (and me). I had crews made up of all kinds of people, high school kids, soccer moms, executives, and people who just walked over that day and saw the building and asked to help.
The thing that I am taking away from this experience is how wonderful people felt when they realized that they had the skill to measure and drill and hammer and hold all that lumber. Everyone who worked on it took ownership for there part.
Much like the knitting projects I work on, casting off is satisfying but, watching the project come to completion is truly amazing.
More to come…. Also, this week’s podcast is going to be blessed multiple voices from the Boston knitting community. I am so thankful to Doria and Wren for all their time and energy.

Through this pod cast I reach hundreds of people. I find myself now wanting to meet my listeners but, I don’t know why.
I don’t do the show because I am super egotistical. If I did the show would sound a lot more like Howard Stern and less like Ira Glass (I heart Ira). I am not looking to meet people to discuss me and my silly show. Nor am I looking for validation, although a nice atta boy / pat on the back from my listeners does give me re-newed energy to do the show.
I want to meet people because I am interested in what other people are up to and what they are like. But I fear that in meeting them we will find ourselves with nothing to talk about.
I think this is another one of those moments where I realize why it is I love knitting groups so much. I don’t need to strike up the conversation, but I can listen and chime in when I feel like it.
Anyhow, for those who are interested in hanging out and gabbing about projects… I am going to the NH Fiber Fest this weekend. I will be traveling with my mom and knitting buddy. I will probably be wearing a tan hat that has the LL Bean fly fishing logo on it. I invite people to say hi. I will be looking to record other people talking about what they are doing at the show, so if you want to contribute, please let me know.
You will know it is me if I look the my picture on the Yarn Harlot web page and am carrying around those silly cards I posted about yesterday in my knitting bag.
Also, is anyone in the NYC area?? I am going to be down there on business June 7-10. I am looking for a group somewhere in Manhattan to go to for me and my Auntie. If you have ideas, please let me know.
So I am taking pictures off my camera in anticipation of the NH Fiber Fest. I am also getting ready for a visit from my mom and need to clean. So I will do this quick before my pumkin gets home and realizes I am goofing off. Enjoy
Should have put these up with the interview, oh well…
